Permits physicians and advanced practice registered nurse practitioners to prescribe end-of-life medications; patients must self-administer the medication and may rescind their request at any time

Protects health care providers who participate in good faith from civil, criminal, and professional liability; allows health care facilities to prohibit staff participation if proper notice is given to employees

Creates felony penalties for unauthorized alteration or destruction of requests that hasten death, and requires the Department of Health to collect compliance data and publish annual statistical reports
