Expands Pennsylvania's assault of law enforcement officer statute (18 Pa.C.S. § 2702.1) to include hospital security officers as protected victims

First-degree felony for intentionally causing bodily injury to a law enforcement officer or hospital security officer by discharging a firearm while the victim is performing their duties

Third-degree felony for intentionally causing such officers to contact blood, seminal fluid, saliva, urine, or feces; elevated to second-degree felony if the offender knew the material came from someone with a reportable communicable disease

Defines "hospital security officer" as an employee charged with maintaining safety and security of hospital property and individuals on the premises

Maintains mandatory minimum sentence of not less than 20 years for assault by firearm, now applicable to offenses against hospital security officers; takes effect 60 days after enactment
