Hotels with at least 100 guest rooms must provide employee safety devices (two-way radios or similar electronic devices) at no cost to employees working alone in guest rooms, allowing them to summon immediate assistance for crimes, threats of sexual assault/harassment/violence, or emergencies

Employees who activate safety devices may cease work and leave the area without adverse action; employers must respond promptly, reassign the affected employee away from the threatening guest's room with no loss of wages, and notify other housekeeping staff of the incident location

Department of Labor and Industry must develop an education program covering safety device use, employee rights, harassment prevention, and active bystander intervention; employers must post written notices of employee protections

Penalties include a warning letter for first violations, then administrative fines up to $5,000 for first violations and $10,000 for subsequent violations

Law does not apply where collective bargaining agreements already address employee safety devices or reporting procedures; takes effect one year after enactment
