Prohibits health insurers and Medicaid/CHIP managed care plans from requiring prior authorization as a condition of coverage for mental health medications

Expands the definition of "serious mental illness" from a specific list of 9 conditions to broader diagnostic categories in the DSM-5-TR, including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and feeding/eating disorders

Applies to policies with rate or form filings on or after the effective date, and to other policies issued or renewed 180 days after the effective date

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
