Repeals Section 6111(f)(2) of Title 18, which currently limits background check requirements to only certain firearm types based on barrel and overall length specifications

Current law being repealed applies sale/transfer provisions only to: pistols or revolvers with barrels under 15 inches, shotguns with barrels under 18 inches, rifles with barrels under 16 inches, and firearms with overall length under 26 inches

Effect of repeal would expand background check and sale/transfer requirements under subsections (a) and (c) of Section 6111 to apply to all firearms regardless of size

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
