Extends pregnancy-related and postpartum medical assistance eligibility for an additional 12 months following childbirth or pregnancy loss for women receiving Medicaid coverage

Eligibility requires the woman to have medical assistance at time of delivery, not otherwise qualify for medical assistance, and have income below 215% of the federal poverty level

Requires the Department of Human Services to seek a federal State Plan Amendment or Section 1115 waiver from CMS to implement the extended coverage

If federal approval is denied, the secretary must submit a report to the Governor and General Assembly within 180 days detailing how to update the application, with resubmission required until approval is obtained

Takes effect 60 days after enactment, subject to necessary federal approval
