Licensed hospitals must submit annual reports to the Department of Health within 30 days after each calendar year detailing hospital admissions and emergency department visits by individuals present in the U.S. in violation of federal immigration law.

The Department of Health must publish a compiled report on its website by March 1 each year showing total admissions, emergency visits, uncompensated care costs, and the impact on hospitals' ability to serve the public.

The department's annual report must be submitted to the Governor, legislative leaders, and the chairs of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and House Health Committee.

"Uncompensated care" is defined as care provided to patients financially unable or unwilling to pay for hospital services.

The act takes effect 60 days after enactment and requires the department to promulgate implementing regulations.
