PA HB1693

Prohibits municipal officials from adopting or enforcing policies that limit law enforcement, corrections officers, parole officers, or judicial staff from cooperating with federal immigration authorities

Requires law enforcement agencies and municipalities to comply with ICE immigration detainer requests, inform individuals they are being held pursuant to such requests, and provide immigration-related information to federal agencies upon request

Creates a private cause of action allowing crime victims (or their families in homicide cases) to sue municipal officials who violate these provisions, with mandatory awards of attorney fees, court costs, and actual damages, plus potential punitive damages, pain and suffering, and loss of earnings

Waives governmental immunity protections for municipal officials who adopt "sanctuary" policies, exposing them to personal liability

Takes effect 60 days after enactment and provides immunity from civil or criminal liability for law enforcement officers who act in good faith reliance on federal immigration information
