Health insurance policies in Pennsylvania must cover COVID-19 vaccines with no cost-sharing, meaning no deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance for enrollees

Government programs including Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) must also provide COVID-19 vaccine coverage without cost-sharing

Coverage requirement applies only to vaccines approved by the FDA for COVID-19 prevention, and excludes limited-benefit policies such as accident-only, dental, vision, Medicare supplement, and military benefit plans

Existing policies that currently cover COVID-19 vaccines without cost-sharing are prohibited from eliminating or reducing that coverage during the transition period

The act takes effect immediately, with full applicability for policies requiring rate/form filings upon first filing, and for other policies within 180 days of the effective date
