Department of Transportation retains authority to designate State-designated highways as snowmobile roads, ATV roads, or both, with discretion to close roads to vehicular traffic or allow shared use

Local authorities gain expanded power to designate any highway within their physical boundaries—including State-designated highways—as snowmobile or ATV roads

Local authorities must obtain PennDOT approval to designate limited access highways for snowmobile/ATV use or to close State-designated highways to vehicular traffic

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
