Pennsylvania State Police prohibited from entering into, modifying, renewing, or extending agreements that authorize state officers to exercise federal civil immigration authority under 8 U.S.C. § 1357

State Police banned from agreements that provide for detention or housing of individuals held by federal immigration authorities for civil violations of immigration law

Existing agreements falling under these prohibitions must be terminated within 30 days of the act taking effect

Law enforcement agencies may still enforce valid warrants or court orders and comply with federal statutes governing criminal history record information disclosure

Adds new Chapter 25 to Title 44 (Law and Justice) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes; takes effect immediately upon enactment
