Courts may order persons convicted of swatting under section 4905.1 to pay the full costs of emergency response, including police, fire, medical personnel, vehicles, and specialized teams

Reimbursable costs include salaries, overtime pay, and expenses for law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS providers, prosecutors, and other government employees involved in responding to, investigating, and prosecuting the offense

For juvenile offenders unable to pay, courts may order parents or legal guardians to cover outstanding costs after considering their financial resources, with payment plans required and hardship modifications available upon petition

When multiple government entities or agencies respond to a single swatting incident, the court may order reimbursement to each entity for its respective expenses

The act takes effect 60 days after enactment and amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes
