Firearm owners must report loss or theft to local police or Pennsylvania State Police within 72 hours of discovery, including details such as manufacturer, model, caliber, serial number, and circumstances of the incident

Law enforcement agencies must enter reported lost or stolen firearm information into the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network and National Crime Information Center database within 24 hours

Recovered lost or stolen firearms shall be returned to lawful owners, subject to existing Pennsylvania State Police provisions

Penalties escalate with repeated violations: first offense is a summary offense with fine up to $500; second offense is a second-degree misdemeanor; third or subsequent offense is a first-degree misdemeanor

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
