Increases the maximum automation fee that county prothonotaries can charge from $5 to $10 for initiating any action or legal proceeding in courts of common pleas

Applies to counties of second class A and third through eighth class, including home rule counties of the same class

Adds a new provision allowing the automation fee to be increased no more than once every three years, with increases capped at the Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) percentage change over the preceding three years

Fees must be deposited into a special prothonotary automation fund and used solely for automation and technology updates in the prothonotary's office

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
