Customers with fixed-duration contracts from electric generation suppliers who do not actively choose a new contract before their existing contract terminates will be automatically returned to the default service provider at the default service rate

Electric generation suppliers are required to initiate the automatic return of inactive customers to default service, rather than allowing contracts to auto-renew or lapse without coverage

The Public Utility Commission must issue an order within 60 days of the law's effective date requiring each electric distribution company to submit a compliance filing

Amends Section 2807(e) of Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes regarding duties of electric distribution companies

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
