School entities must complete initial evaluations to determine if a child has a disability under federal law within 60 consecutive school days after receiving parental consent for the evaluation

Parents must receive a copy of the completed evaluation within the same 60-day timeframe

"School entity" includes school districts, intermediate units, approved private schools, State-operated programs, and other public or private organizations providing educational services to children with disabilities or early intervention services

Charter schools and cyber charter schools are explicitly excluded from this evaluation timeline requirement

The act takes effect 60 days after enactment
