Eligible student teachers who complete required student teaching in a subject shortage area in Pennsylvania will receive an additional minimum grant of $5,000 on top of the standard grant amount

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, in consultation with the Department of Education, will determine which subjects qualify as shortage areas

Amends Section 1203-B of the Public School Code of 1949 to add this new grant provision to the existing Student Teacher Support Grant Program

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
