Local school boards would be authorized to impose enrollment caps on charter schools and regional charter schools for students residing within the district(s) where the charter school is physically located or chartered

Cyber charter schools would remain exempt from enrollment caps and continue to be unrestricted unless voluntarily agreed to in a written charter

Charter schools could still enroll students from districts outside their physical location without being subject to the enrollment cap

Regional charter school enrollment caps would require approval from all local boards of school directors in the districts where the school is chartered

Act takes effect 60 days after enactment
