Electors who are blind, visually impaired, or disabled may request special absentee ballots available in braille format

Requests must be submitted in writing to the county board of elections at least 45 days before the election; a single request covers all elections in that calendar year

County boards must forward requests to the Department of State within 24 hours and provide a list of requesters at least 18 days before each election

The Department of State is responsible for preparing, distributing, and publishing voting guides for special absentee ballots in print, braille, audio, and other accessible formats

The Department of State shall expand the program to other electors with disabilities and incorporate additional accessible formats as technology and resources allow
