Requires registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to complete 1 hour of continuing education on older adult abuse recognition and reporting as part of their mandatory 30-hour biennial continuing education requirement for license renewal

Nurses who fail to complete the older adult abuse training cannot have their license renewed and are prohibited from practicing until the requirement is satisfied

Nurses must retain documentation of completed older adult abuse continuing education for at least 5 years and comply with Board audit requests

Allows nurses to request waivers for serious illness, military service, or other demonstrated hardship by submitting a written request at least 90 days before license expiration

Act takes effect 60 days after enactment
