Prohibits contracts or agreements from containing provisions that authorize one party to confess judgment against another party

Exempts contracts entered into prior to the effective date of the law and contracts entered into by the Commonwealth or municipalities pursuant to statute

Renders any confession of judgment provision that violates the prohibition void and unenforceable

Amends Title 12 (Commerce and Trade) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes by adding Chapter 59 on miscellaneous provisions

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
