Beginning January 1, 2028, prohibits the manufacture, distribution, sale, or production of firefighting personal protective equipment containing intentionally added PFAS chemicals in Pennsylvania

State Fire Commissioner may grant exceptions if PFAS use is determined unavoidable, with notice published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin

First violation carries a civil penalty up to $5,000; second or subsequent violations carry penalties up to $10,000 each

Collected fines split equally between the Fire Company Grant Program (50%) and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program (50%)

Attorney General responsible for enforcement; covered equipment includes jackets, pants, shoes, gloves, helmets, and respiratory equipment worn during fire and rescue activities
