WO1 John Stephen Chrin was born June 24, 1949, in Lebanon, PA, enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 28, 1970, and served as a combat medical evacuation (DUSTOFF) helicopter pilot in Vietnam

Chrin was killed in action on October 13, 1971, when his helicopter crashed during a night medical evacuation mission in monsoon conditions near the Cambodian border, having completed more than 125 combat MEDEVAC missions

Chrin received the Purple Heart, six Air Medals, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Aviator Badge; he is memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial (panel 2W, line 38)

The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain signs displaying the bridge name in both directions; the act takes effect in 60 days
