Pennsylvania hospitals provided nearly $10 billion in uncompensated care in fiscal year 2023, along with 1.5 million inpatient treatments and over 5.5 million emergency department visits

Hospitals are the largest employer in 22 Pennsylvania counties, directly employing more than 273,000 people and supporting over 353,000 additional jobs

Pennsylvania has 123 teaching hospitals and 29 hospitals with "Magnet" designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center

Urges residents to show appreciation to healthcare workers and encourages legislators to visit hospitals in their communities
