Commemorates the arrival of Manjiro, the first Japanese immigrant to the United States, on May 7, 1843, and the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869 with 15,000 to 20,000 Chinese immigrant workers

Recognizes more than 600,000 Pennsylvania residents who trace their roots to Asia and the Pacific Islands

Acknowledges AAPI contributions to arts, health care, law, military, public service, science, and technology

Encourages all Commonwealth residents to learn about and explore Asian-American and Pacific Islander heritage
