The collapse resulted in 231 deaths, more than 200 injuries, and 189 individuals rescued, making it one of the deadliest non-natural disasters in Dominican Republic history

Notable victims included performer Rubby Pérez, former MLB players Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco, and Montecristi Province Governor Nelsy Cruz; 17 U.S. citizens were among those killed

A copy of the resolution is to be transmitted to the Dominican Consulate in Philadelphia, recognizing Pennsylvania's population of more than 81,000 Dominican residents
