Sandra Schultz Newman (November 4, 1938 – February 2, 2026) was the first woman elected to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1995, serving until 2006

First woman to serve in the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, later spending two decades in private practice before becoming a Commonwealth Court Judge in 1993

Earned degrees from Drexel University (bachelor's, 1959), Temple University (master's in hearing science, 1969), and Villanova University School of Law (J.D., 1972)

Cofounded the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Drexel University College of Medicine

Received numerous honors including the Anne X. Alpern Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Drexel 100 Award, and designation as one of the Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania
