Increases the maximum automation fee that prothonotaries in second class A and third through eighth class counties may charge from $5 to $10 for initiating any legal action or proceeding

Collected fees must be deposited into a special prothonotary automation fund and used exclusively for automation and technology updates in the prothonotary's office

Adds a new provision allowing fee increases no more than once every three years, capped at the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for the preceding three years

Applies to home rule counties within the specified county classifications

Takes effect 60 days after enactment
