Requires Pennsylvania's medical assistance program and private health insurers to cover bariatric surgery and related treatments for obesity when a physician certifies compliance with American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery or American College of Surgeons standards

Mandates coverage of FDA-approved anti-obesity medications for private insurers and drugs on the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Statewide Preferred Drug List for Medicaid

Related covered treatments include preoperative psychological screening, behavior modification, nutritional counseling, exercise programs, and postoperative follow-up care

Applies only to insured individuals at least 18 years of age and requires benefits be provided at the same level as other medically necessary surgical procedures

Takes effect 60 days after enactment and applies to health insurance policies offered, issued, or renewed after the effective date
