Requires all health insurance policies in Pennsylvania to cover eating disorder treatment, including inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient care, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy

Covered eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, binge-eating disorder, pica, rumination disorder, and other specified feeding or eating disorders

Medical necessity determinations must consider overall medical and mental health needs and cannot be based solely on weight; decisions must align with DSM-5 standards and authoritative medical literature

Prohibits insurers from denying eligibility, penalizing providers, or offering incentives to circumvent coverage requirements; cost-sharing for eating disorder treatment cannot exceed that for comparable medical or surgical services

Takes effect 60 days after enactment, with requirements applying to newly filed policies immediately and to policies not requiring state filing within 180 days
