Expands FMLA-style unpaid leave to allow eligible employees up to 6 weeks to care for a sibling, grandparent, or grandchild with a certified terminal illness, provided the family member has no living spouse, child over 17, or parent under 65

Leave must be taken in minimum one-week increments and is capped at 6 weeks per 12-month period, with federal FMLA leave reducing this entitlement but not vice versa

Employees receive the same job protections and rights as under federal FMLA and must provide written or verbal notice to employers as soon as practicable

Employers may require physician certification of terminal illness and must post a Department of Labor and Industry-developed abstract of the act's provisions

Enforcement is contingent on adequate funding appropriation as determined by the Secretary of Labor and Industry, with the act taking effect 60 days after enactment
