Recognizes the Holocaust as the state-sponsored persecution and murder of an estimated 17 million people by the Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945, including approximately 6 million Jewish victims

Acknowledges victims beyond the Jewish population, including Romani people, disabled individuals, homosexuals, Poles, Communists, Soviet citizens, Socialists, and Jehovah's Witnesses

Aligns with the United Nations resolution adopted in 2005 establishing January 27 as the international day of remembrance

Introduced and adopted on the same day (January 27, 2025) with bipartisan sponsorship from 16 senators
