Commemorates January 15, 2025, as the 50th anniversary of the Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation, which has served the Korean immigrant and broader Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in greater Philadelphia since 1975

Dr. Philip Jaisohn became the first Korean immigrant to acquire U.S. citizenship on June 19, 1890, and organized the First Korean Congress in Philadelphia from April 14-16, 1919, where the Korean Declaration of Independence was proclaimed

The Foundation formed the Asian American Coalition for Health and Human Services (AACHHS) with Indian, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Pakistani, Bengali, and Nepali community organizations

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jaisohn Center and AACHHS hosted more than 130 vaccine clinics and provided 24,000 COVID-19 test kits and N95 masks to over 50 organizations serving underserved communities

The Senate recognizes the Foundation's work in medical and health care, senior employment training, social services, leadership development, advocacy, and cultural programs
