HIE occurs when an infant's brain is deprived of oxygen due to causes such as placental insufficiency, uterine rupture, umbilical cord complications, or trauma during delivery

75-80% of infants born with HIE survive, but 50-70% of survivors experience seizures and 40-50% develop developmental disabilities including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, vision loss, hearing loss, and cognitive delays

Recognizes Hope for HIE as an organization providing resources, information, and personalized support to families affected by HIE diagnoses

Aims to educate the public and connect families affected by HIE through increased awareness
