Rhode Island House of Representatives expresses condolences to the family of Arthur Armand Coia, a Providence native who passed away

Coia served as General President of the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) beginning in 1993, after rising through positions including first Business Manager of the Rhode Island Laborers District Council in 1967, Regional Manager, International Vice President (1986), and General Secretary-Treasurer

Co-founded the law firm Coia & Lepore in 1970, specializing in Workers' Compensation and protecting injured workers' rights

Created the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET) and the Arthur E. Coia Scholarship Education Fund in honor of his late father

Secretary of State directed to transmit certified copies of the resolution to Mrs. Donna Paolino Coia and family
