Served as Rhode Island Commissioner of Higher Education from 1999 to 2002, overseeing construction of the Ryan Center, Boss Arena, new URI dormitories, CCRI Warwick addition, and the Nazarian Center for Performing Arts at Rhode Island College

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Dr. Holland's family
