Amends Rhode Island's Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (Section 34-18-19) to address security deposit increases for existing tenants

When a landlord raises rent and subsequently increases the security deposit, tenants may pay the difference between the old and new deposit amounts in prorated installments over 12 months

Maintains existing law capping security deposits at one month's periodic rent maximum

Preserves all other security deposit provisions including the 20-day return requirement, itemized deduction notices, and double damages plus attorney fees for landlord noncompliance

Takes effect immediately upon passage
