Rhode Island House of Representatives expresses condolences on the passing of Anthony DeLuca, a former state representative who served from 1981 to 1986 representing Cranston

DeLuca served eight years on the Cranston City Council, including as Council President, and was a delegate to the 2000 Democratic National Convention

DeLuca taught for over 30 years in Cranston Public Schools, headed Foreign Language Departments at Cranston West High School and Western Hills Middle School, received a Fulbright Scholarship, and taught at URI, Salve Regina University, and Roger Williams University

DeLuca was a member of the Rhode Island National Guard and an advocate for same-sex marriage equality, testifying in favor of the 2013 Rhode Island bill legalizing same-sex marriage

Secretary of State is directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to DeLuca's wife Sylvia and family
