Rhode Island House of Representatives expresses condolences on the passing of Raymond J. Turbitt of Warwick and New Port Richey, Florida, who was married to Judith "Sharon" Turbitt for 52 years

Turbitt was born in 1944 in Providence and served as a mathematics educator at Warwick Public Schools and Bryant University for many years

Participated in the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project (RIMAP) and contributed to the ten-year search for the HMS Gaspee, using his geometry expertise for site mapping

Active community member who coached Little League baseball and basketball and was a lifelong member of the Gaspee Home-Owners Association

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Mrs. Judith "Sharon" Turbitt and family
