Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) with at least 2 years of supervised practice would gain independent practice authority to deliver anesthesia care without physician oversight

Non-supervised CRNAs may issue written prescriptions, medication orders, and order tests pursuant to mutually developed guidelines with a supervising CRNA or physician

Hospitals would be prohibited from limiting the independent practice authority of non-supervised CRNAs

CRNAs with less than 2 years of experience must continue practicing under supervision of a healthcare professional meeting board-established qualification criteria

Executive Office of Health and Human Services must submit a Medicaid state plan amendment to the federal government by September 1, 2026, with the act taking effect January 1, 2027
