Melillo was born in Providence and worked as an assembler at Quill Pen before retiring

Survived by two children, including son Anthony J. Melillo who serves as Vice Chairman of the Cranston School Committee, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the Melillo family
