Quonset Development Corporation gains authority to acquire, own, maintain, and control all lighting equipment, including streetlights, within Quonset Business Park

Addresses ongoing uncertainty over streetlight ownership that has hindered maintenance and compromised safety for motorists and pedestrians in the business park

Grants the Corporation the same rights as municipalities under the Municipal Streetlight Investment Act (§ 39-30-3) to acquire lighting equipment from electric distribution companies or municipalities

Requires the Corporation to compensate the current owner (electric distribution company or municipality) in accordance with existing statutory requirements

Takes effect immediately upon passage
