Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) must disregard all assets and resources when determining eligibility for Medicare Savings Programs (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary, Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary, and Qualified Individual programs)

Eliminates asset tests for Medicare Buy-In programs, allowing eligibility to be based solely on income rather than wealth

Implementation is contingent upon EOHHS obtaining all required federal approvals, including amendments to the state Medicaid plan

EOHHS must promulgate regulations to implement the changes before the asset disregard takes effect

Takes effect immediately upon passage
