Requests must be submitted in person to local law enforcement or Rhode Island State Police, or through a healthcare provider with proper verification and medical release forms

Concealed carry permits are automatically suspended while on a restricted list and reinstated upon removal, unless the permit expired or was revoked for unrelated reasons

All records related to an individual's inclusion on the restricted lists must be destroyed upon removal and are exempt from public records requests; prior inclusion cannot be used in future background checks or permit applications

Imposes a $25 civil fine for firearm possession while on a restricted list and makes it a misdemeanor to add someone to a restricted list without their knowledge
