Adds two positions—deputy chief of inspection and inspector—to the list of Department of Corrections employees eligible for correctional officer retirement benefits under Section 36-10-9.2

Eligible correctional officer positions can retire at age 50 with 20 years of service (if eligible before October 1, 2009) or at age 55 with 25 years of service (for those eligible after October 1, 2009)

The expanded eligibility list already includes assistant director (adult services), assistant deputy director, chief of inspection, associate directors, correctional officer, chief of security, work rehabilitation program supervisor, supervisor of custodial records and reports, and classification counselor

Takes effect immediately upon passage
