Adds possession to the list of prohibited activities for prohibited firearms, expanding existing restrictions on manufacture, sale, and purchase

Violations punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or fines up to $10,000, with mandatory forfeiture of the firearm

Owners who lawfully possessed prohibited firearms before July 1, 2026 must sell or transfer them to a federally licensed dealer or out-of-state buyer by December 31, 2026

Federally licensed dealers and law enforcement agencies retain authority to sell, transfer, or purchase prohibited firearms among themselves or to out-of-state buyers

Takes effect upon passage, amending Chapter 11-47.2 of Rhode Island General Laws
