Retired police officers and firefighters receiving municipal pension benefits may elect to return to work in administrative positions (police chief, fire chief, deputy chief, public safety director, town/city manager) without limits on days worked or compensation earned

Participating retirees must contribute 5% of their reemployment compensation to the retirement system, which may be paid by the retiree, employer, or shared by agreement

Retirees cannot accrue additional service credit or receive enhanced retirement benefits from post-retirement employment

Participation is prohibited after age 68, and retirees cannot return to the same position held immediately before retirement

Effective upon passage; retirement board to promulgate implementing rules and regulations
