Overweight vehicle penalties enforced by municipal officers on municipal roadways would be paid to the municipality that issued the violation, rather than the state

Each violation would still require $120 to be paid to the state general fund and a $5.00 administrative fee to the traffic tribunal

Overweight penalties remain unchanged: $100 per 1,000 lbs. over for vehicles 10,000 lbs. or less; $125 per 500 lbs. over for vehicles exceeding 10,000 lbs.

Additional penalties apply for extremely overweight vehicles: $1,025 surcharge for vehicles over 104,800 lbs. and $2,500 surcharge for vehicles over 130,000 lbs.
