Proclaims March 2026 as "Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month" in Rhode Island

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men and women combined in both Rhode Island and nationally

An estimated 430 new colorectal cancer cases and 150 deaths are projected in Rhode Island for 2026, with 154,270 new cases and 52,900 deaths projected nationally

Early detection increases survival rates from 15% (undetected) to 90% (detected early), and regular screenings can find and remove pre-cancerous polyps

Directs the Secretary of State to transmit certified copies of the resolution to the American Cancer Society and the President of the American College of Gastroenterology
