Senate resolution expressing condolences on the passing of Ashbel Tingley Wall, II (A.T. Wall), who served as Director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections for nearly two decades and was the longest-serving Corrections Director in the United States

Wall graduated summa cum laude from Yale University and Yale Law School, previously worked in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, and began his career with Rhode Island Department of Corrections in 1985

As Director, Wall initiated a nation-leading medication-assisted treatment program for inmates with addiction and created a program where inmates trained service dogs for injured military veterans and disabled individuals

Under Wall's leadership, there were no homicides or successful escapes in Rhode Island correctional facilities, and no federal court interventions; he testified before Congress on the Prison Rape Elimination Act and evaluated facilities nationwide for the Civil Rights Division

Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Wall's wife, Maria DeCarvalho, and family
